How to Submit an Elevation Certificate

Lee County does not prepare elevation certificates. Elevation Certificates (EC) are prepared by locally licensed surveyors and submitted to Lee County Community Development as a requirement of the building permit process for structures located in FEMA's Special Flood Hazard Area (aka Flood Zone).

In an effort to go green, the Lee County Inspection/Building Department is now accepting elevation certificates that have been digitally signed and sealed by a surveyor. To submit a digitally signed elevation certificate, send it by email to Inspections@leegov.com. Lee County will continue to accept hard copy elevation certificates by mail to: P.O. Box 398, Fort Myers, FL 33902 Attn: Building Inspections, however, digital Elevation Certificates are preferred.
