All Services:

Operates a full-service facility offering skilled craftsmanship in cabinetry, welding, woodworking, remodeling, roofing and specialized lock services.  Works with vendors, contractors, and permitting to complete small projects.
The Roofing Shop performs preventative maintenance as scheduled and has certifications to perform corrective and emergency repairs.  
The Lock Shop is staffed by three certified locksmiths who provide comprehensive support for all County departments. Committed to excellent customer service, the team stays current with advancements in security technology and provides training as needed.

Lock shop services include:
Duplication of standard and high-security keys
Design and implementation of master key systems for new construction and rekeying projects
Repairs, on-site service calls, and preventive maintenance

Downtown Jail

Responsible for the maintenance and repair of the Downtown Jail facility. Ensures the facility remains secure, functional, and in compliance with operational standards.

Ortiz Detention Center

The Detention Maintenance Division exclusively supports the Lee County Sheriff's Office. Located on Ortiz Avenue, the site includes two main buildings: Core One and Core Two tower. The team is responsible for maintaining all facility systems, including those supporting the CPUs (Central Processing Units) that house inmates serving 60- to 90-day sentences. 


Responsible for the safe and reliable operation, maintenance, and repair of all Lee County elevators, chairlifts, and escalators. Manages comprehensive inspections, routine servicing, and timely registration renewals for all Lee County FDEP regulated fuel storage tanks, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and uninterrupted emergency readiness.

A full-service electrical division specializing in everything from high-voltage systems to automated doors, gates, and complex control systems.  Ensures proper maintenance of ballpark and high-elevation lighting. Provides 24/7 on-call support to ensure safe, reliable, and uninterrupted electrical operations.

Environmental Health

Focused on ensuring healthy indoor environments across all Lee County facilities, this division addresses air quality concerns and environmental hazards to protect the health and safety of staff, visitors, and the public. Key responsibilities include:
  • Investigating and providing recommendations for reported indoor air quality issues.
  • Conducting remediation work as necessary.
  • Managing and supervising external contractors for including lead, asbestos, mold, biohazards, fire damage, and flood restoration.
  • Responding to water intrusion and flooding incidents, overseeing drying procedures to prevent mold and other environmental risks, focusing on prevention of cross-contamination.
  • Mitigating chemical spills, suspected toxic gas releases, and nuisance odors.
  • Operating and maintaining specialized environmental monitoring equipment.
  • Conducting indoor environmental quality testing and data collection within scope.

Life Safety

Oversees all life safety systems in County-owned facilities, ensuring compliance and readiness. Responsibilities include:
  • Maintenance and inspection of building fire systems, per NFPA Standards and the FL Fire Codes.
  • Managing all additional safety measures related to life safety operations.
  • Performs monthly safety meetings and follows up on any reported safety concerns.
  • Monitors and investigates all safety incidents/accidents.
  • EHLS is responsible for ensuring that all required documentation is provided to RISK management and the applicable department(s), in a timely manner.

The Furniture Department manages all aspects of workspace reconfiguration and furniture maintenance to support the evolving needs of Lee County departments.
Key Services Include:
Reconfiguring office layouts due to County growth or organizational changes
Setting up and tearing down furniture for Lee County events and meetings
Delivering and installing new office furniture and components
Maintaining and repairing desks, chairs, shelving, and other office furnishings
Coordinating furniture moves for departmental relocations or renovations
Managing surplus furniture storage and redistribution
The Furniture Team ensures all office environments are functional, professional, and aligned with County operations.


Manages employee identification and building access systems, including the issuance, replacement, and troubleshooting of security badges. Provides support to ensure safe, authorized entry across all County facilities, maintaining compliance with security protocols. 

Responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing and irrigation systems across all Lee County facilities. Our skilled trades workers service and install a wide range of components, including pump systems, sprinkler heads, toilets, faucets, lift stations, and water piping infrastructure. From routine repairs to complex system upgrades, the team ensures reliable water management and efficient system performance in support of safe and functional County operations.   

Ensures trades workers are equipped with the necessary parts, tools, and equipment to complete work orders efficiently and cost-effectively. By maintaining a well-organized and responsive supply system, we support timely maintenance and repair operations across all County facilities. 

Additionally, U.S., Florida, POW/MIA, and all military service flags are distributed—free of charge—every six months to departments with designated flagpoles, honoring our commitment to patriotism and public service.

Delivers comprehensive HVAC solutions, including expert air conditioning repair, new system installations, and preventative maintenance. Offers 24/7 emergency support and leads major maintenance projects to ensure optimal performance, energy efficiency, and long-term value.

The Paint Shop is staffed by skilled professionals dedicated to delivering high-quality finishes, whether performing touch-ups, repainting individual rooms, or completing full building projects. In addition to responding to work orders, the team conducts routine inspections to assess conditions and prioritize maintenance needs.

This Shop also manages all flooring-related needs and coordinates with external contractors for larger or specialized projects.

We are committed to sustainability, utilizing low-VOC (volatile organic compound) materials and adopting environmentally responsible coating technologies to minimize impact on the community.


The Pest Control Shop operates under an Integrated Pest Management (IPM) program designed to proactively monitor and address pest issues in Lee County Government facilities. This approach emphasizes prevention and targeted treatment, significantly reducing the use of pesticides and promoting healthier indoor environments.

Key services include:
Providing in-house preventive pest control services to all County-owned and leased buildings on a monthly or bi-monthly schedule.
Administering a quarterly rodent abatement program for applicable facilities.
Conducting semi-annual termite inspections for all County properties.
Coordinating live bee removal with certified vendors to ensure safe and humane practices.
Managing termite fumigation services through state-certified contractors licensed to handle regulated fumigants.


Encompasses scheduled maintenance and repair services designed to keep equipment and facility assets operating efficiently. By proactively addressing deterioration and potential issues, preventive maintenance minimizes unexpected breakdowns, extends asset lifespan, and reduces the risk of costly unplanned downtime.

This includes routine servicing of critical systems such as HVAC units, generators, elevators, plumbing, electrical systems, fire safety equipment, and parking lots, as well as other essential infrastructure across Lee County facilities.
