LEE COUNTY NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING CONCERNING
THE HOUSING FINANCE AUTHORITY OF LEE COUNTY, FLORIDA'S
MULTI-FAMILY MORTGAGE REVENUE BONDS
For the purpose of Section 147(f) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, as amended, notice is hereby given that a public hearing will be held on behalf of the Housing Finance Authority of Lee County, Florida with respect to the issuance of its Multi-Family Housing Revenue bonds in the aggregate principal amount of not to exceed $20,000,000 bonds (Pine Echo Apartments Project) pursuant to Chapter 159, Part IV, Florida Statutes.
The public hearing will be held on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, at 9:30 AM, or as soon thereafter as can be heard, held in the County Commissioners' Chambers, Lee County Courthouse, 2120 Main Street, Fort Myers, Florida.
The Bonds are to be used pursuant to the plan finance as follows:
- To purchase federally insured or guaranteed mortgage loans originated by participating local lending institutions to finance or refinance the purchase of new or existing owner-occupied single-family residences situated within Lee County and/or other Florida Counties as authorized by Chapter 159, Part IV, Florida Statutes, as amended and owned by persons or families of low, moderate or middle income;
- To purchase securities from a master servicer evidencing interests in or backed by a pool of such mortgage loans, including, without limitation, securities issued by the federal government or agencies thereof;
- To be used in conjunction with a mortgage certificate program; and/or
- To be applied toward multifamily housing.
The HFA also seeks authorization for the allocation of Multi-Family Mortgage Revenue Bonds to be converted for mortgage credit certificate authority, and/or be used as allocation for multi-family revenue bonds.
In accordance with 159.612(4) F.S. "The bonds issued pursuant to the provisions hereof, and the bonds shall so state on their face, shall not be a debt of the county or the state, or any political subdivision thereof; and neither the county, nor any state or political subdivision thereof, shall be liable thereon; nor in any event shall such bonds or obligations be payable out of any funds or properties other than those of the housing finance authority."
Copies of this Notice and the proposed Resolution is available for inspection or copying during regular business hours at the Minutes Office of the Clerk of Courts of Lee County, located in the Courthouse Administration Building, 2115 Second Street, Fort Myers, Florida. Interested parties may appear at the meeting of the Board of County Commissioners, in person or through a representative, and be heard by the Board on the proposed Resolution.
Anyone wishing to appeal the Board's decision(s) with respect to any matter considered at this meeting will need a record of the proceedings. Generally, a verbatim record, including all testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is to be based, will be necessary.
